Some says; if you go to the Langkawi Island, please don’t spread the news. Why? You’ll end up getting a 1km list of goods from ur mak cik esah, pak cik selamat n frenz. Ada yg nak kirim batik jawa, minyak gamat, chocs, cigar, blah...blah…blah…and yes, of course all the goods are ½ the price from mainland. It is a duty free island; you can buy the Corningware set for only RM299 (10 pieces)!!! Aah…indahnya dunia.
At 8.00 am on 5 Dec 04; my parents, Pak Su’s family, my husband & I went to the Langkawi Island. It was only one day trip; our mission was shopping till we sweat . We took a boat from Kuala Kedah (RM 15, one-way) & you’ll be in the boat for about 1 ½ hour. It’s only 45mins, if you take a boat from Kuala Perlis (RM13, one way) & 3 long hrs from Penang.
I have been to the Langkawi 10 years ago, and now, whoah! It is so different. A decade ago; only Telaga 7, Padang Matsirat, Mahsuri Legend are among the tourist attractions of Langkawi Island. But now, after 10 years, Langkawi Island has upgrade drastically. Lots of attraction like Pulau Payar, Penguins at Underwater World, Cabel Car, and many more.
Next year, I hope I have the chance (& budget) to visit all the attractions in the Langkawi. By the way, mission accomplished for this trip.
