Luncheon at Ustazah Yati & Hj. Kamal's home



Last Saturday we have an invitation from Ustazah Yati & Hj. Kamal. The menu were great. I luv the satay and ayam percik. psst...mana nak cari satay sedap kat Lufbra nie wei!!!

Cucur Jagung & Sood's Chillie Sauce



We've been introduced this Sood's chillie sauce by Kak Mazni and it's only 50p. You can get it from Home Bargain. The 'kuokul' thing is, Sood's is Buatan Malaysia. Malaysia bole!!! And we eat with cucur jagung.

Cucur Jagung Recipe:
Beat an egg with peeled prawn (a cup). Mix with sliced corn and red&green chillies. Add sliced red onion. Beat the whole ingredients again. Set aside to leave the mixture to rest for about 10mins. Heat a pan with oil. Scoop the ingredients and fry until it turns yellowish.

Bihun Bandung Lufbra


Cheap broccoli, sweet carrot, fresh cauliflower and capsicums. Walla! I cook the Bihun Bandung Lufbra by adding all the vegs.

Ingredients:
Ricemill or Bihun - soak a night
Shallots - 5 cloves and pound roughly
Garlic - 3 cloves and pound roughly
Dried chillies - 3, add more if wanna be more spicy. machined.
Chillie sauce - 3tbsps
Tomato sauce - 5tbsps
Sweet & salty soy sauce
Chicken - cut into cube
Peeled prawn
Sliced mushrooms
All the vegs in your fridge :) hehehe....

Methods:
1. Stir fry the pounded shallots and cloves.
2. After the ingredients turned yellowish, add the machined dried chillies.
3. After 10 mins, add 3 cups of water and chicken.
4. Let the chicken cook for about 15mins and add carot.
5. Add peeled prawn.
6. After 10mins, pour all the sauces and the veges and also the sliced mushrooms.
7. Add bihun.
8. Add a pinch of salt&sugar.

* Nice to be served with finger chillies soy sauce

How to make finger chillies soy sauce:
chopped 5 finger chillies. mix with salty sauce. squeeze lime juice into the mixture.

Open House, 11 Nov 2006

Alhamdullilah, our first open house in Lufbra for Eid Mubarak 1427H start from noon till nite, goes as planned. Nearly 150 guest - kecik, besaq, tua, muda datang memeriahkan suasana. Thank you for coming! I cooked: bihun tomyam, cicor jagung, pulut sekaya, puding caramel & fruit cocktaile.

Recipe: Mung Beans Porridge


It's easy to cook porridge in a slow cooker. Just add 1 cups of mung beans and a tbsp of biji sago with 3 cups of water into the crock pot. Set the slow cooker to HIGH. After 2 hours, add 2 cups of coconut milk, 1 cup of sugar and a pinch of salt. Let it cook for another an hour. Here is the result.

Recipe : Rendang Seri Serai


Satu lagi resepi mak saya - Rendang Seri Serai
Bahan:
Daging 1 kilo
Santan dari 2 biji nyior
B.Merah 150g (kalau rasa malas nak kupas b.merah banyak2x, campur dengan b.besaq)
B.Putih 50g
Lengkuas 10g
Serai 6 batang
Halia 50g
Cabai kering 13 biji.
Gula&Garam

Cara:
1. Blend semua bahan (err...daging tak yah ler blend).
2. Mix bahan mesin dengan daging.
3. Perap sekejap (x perap pun xper).
4. Masak dalam kuali dan masukkan santan.
5. Kacau sampai kering - mau 2 jam kacau nih.
6. Rasa dah penat kacau, masuk dalam microwave - cepat skit kering rendang nih. atau sambung esok ja kacau :)

Notes: Rendang nie bole tahan seminggu tanpa letak dalam fridge.

Recipe: Pulut Sekaya


I never thought I would cook the Pulut Sekaya or Seri Muka coz' I'm not the big fan of glutinous rice and sekaya. But than, semenjak dua-menjak nie kena angin England, teringin pulak nak makan . Hence I called my mom begging for her famous Pulut Sekaya recipe.

Ingredients for the low-level (pulut):
Glutinous - 2 cups
Coconut milk -2 cups
Salt to taste.

Method:
1. Wash the glutinous rice.
2. Mix with coconut milk and salt.
3. Stim for abt 45mins

Ingredients for the upper-level (sekaya):
Medium eggs - 2
Sugar - 11 tsps
Coconut Milk - 2 cups
Flour - 2 tsps
Bunga Lawang - 1 kelopak
KK Manis - 1cm
Salt to taste.
Pandan leaves - 5 or Green Food Colouring - 1/2 tsp.


Method:
1. Beat egg with sugar.
2. Pound bunga lawang and KK manis together with pandan. Mix with coconut milk and flour.
3. Filter the mixture in (2) into (1).
4. Add a little bit of salt and green food coloring.
5. Pour the ingredients on top of cooked glutinous rice.
6. Let it stim ard 15-10mins.
